Peter Vardy leaves Rossleigh Jaguar Edinburgh as General Manager and Sir Peter Vardy steps down as CEO of Reg Vardy plc following the Group's acquisition be Pendragon for £506m.

May 2006
The Vardy Group is launched from Durham. Sir Peter Vardy establishes Vardy Venture Capital and his son Richard launches the Vardy Property Group. Peter Vardy develops Peter Vardy Ltd, the most exciting new name to enter motor retailing in many years. 

June 2006
Peter Vardy Ltd is launched officially with the acquisition of Perth Vauxhall.

Peter Vardy Ltd forms key partnerships with Kerridge and British Car Auctions as key partners to support the growth plan.

October 2006
The Accelerator Programme, a scheme developed to attract the most talented people towards the motor industry by creating links between performance and ambition with rewards, is launched. The programme is the first in the motor industry to place equal value on employees' performance with their desire to learn and behaviour, and to reward with a range of benefits.

The company website is launched. It highlights exclusive offers on new Vauxhalls, A used car search tool and allows for online booking of servicing and MOT tests. The site is also home to the company's job board and details of the unique franchising model.

November 2006
The first community sponsorship is announced, revealing a plan to support the Young Carers including the group PKAVS (Perth & Kinross Association of Voluntary Services) which provide support and services to young carers. During 2007 the dealership would help by taking these young carers out quarterly, sponsoring annual open days and also providing free servicing and maintenance to its vehicles.
