Tax-free motoring
With some of the lowest CO2 emissions in the UK, the new Vauxhall Corsa’s ecoFLEX diesel engines bring down the cost of driving. With stop/start technology, a turbocharger with variable geometry, perfected gear ratios with economy-boosting ‘shift-up’ indicator, reduced rolling resistance tyres and even aerodynamic wheel covers, the Vauxhall Corsa 1.3CDTi (95PS) models deliver an astounding 80.7mpg on the combined cycle. It is Vauxhall’s most economical model ever and, better still, has sub-100g/km emissions. So you don’t pay any vehicle excise duty (VED, or road tax).
The 75PS version of the 1.3CDTi features reduced emissions, improved economy and stop/start as standard, and even the punchy 130PS 1.7CDTi only emits 118g/km of CO2. There are also now two ecoFLEX petrol engines – the new 1.0i (65PS) and 1.2i Easytronic (85PS) both qualify for Band C vehicle excise duty, with just 117g/km and 119g/km respectively.
