Don't Scrap Scrappage!
At Peter Vardy we have called on the Government to extend the Car Scrappage Scheme. We have launched a ‘Don’t Scrap Scrappage’ campaign to get wider industry and consumer support for maintaining the initiative over the ‘challenging year ahead.’
In a letter to the Business Secretary Lord Mandelson, our chief executive Peter Vardy explains that the Scrappage Scheme has been a lifeline for the motor trade and the wider economy, as it benefits from a strong automobile industry. He has also highlighted the danger faced by many UK car dealerships which could face closure and be forced to shed jobs if they lose the support the scheme has given them since it was introduced last May.
