Bethany Christian Trust

On the 26th March 2010 Peter Vardy and a team of directors participated in 'The Big Sleepout 2010' in the name of Bethany Christian Trust.

The Big Sleepout 2010

Bethany's Big Sleepout is an organised charity event where people are sponsored to give up their beds for a night and sleep rough. By doing so money was raised to help to homeless and vulnerable people in Scotland. Customers, colleagues, friends and family all supported this worthwhile cause, raising a fantastic total of £10,000. A big thank you from Peter Vardy Ltd goes out to all who helped raise these funds, through your generosity Bethany Christian Trust can make the lives of Scotland's homeless that much easier.

About Bethany Christian Trust

Bethany helps the homeless and the vulnerable overcome problems that cause homelessness, and provide a foundation to prevent this issue. When you donate funds to Bethany you help people tackle and overcome these problems in order to live happier and more settled lives.

Homelessness is so widespread in Scotland that it can effect whole communities and society at large. Nearly 57,000 people declared themselves homeless in Scotland in 2007/2008. Fortunately we are all in a position to help by contributing to a fantastic cause in Bethany Christian Trust.

Funding Given How Funding Has Helped

£10,000
(26/03/2010)

Bethany Christian Trust provide seven levels of care with the funds raised from this appeal. The range of care Bethany provide is diverse and helps acheive their goal of helping the homeless become more settled. Initially Bethany perform street work where nightly food, blankets and clothing are made available. From there emergency accomodation can be arranged where hot meals and advice are given. The level of care provided becomes more complex as the level of funds raised increases with specialist care units and supported housing entering the fray. Home furniture provision is an invaluable project which provides furniture for people on low incomes. Bethany also provide community education projects which help bridge the gap between homeless services and formal education. This is very important in facilitating employment and volunteering opportunities. Finally Bethany achieve community integration by providing networks and skills to help the homeless. It's not uncommon for employment, apprenticeships and volunteering placements to arise through this final level of care.
