A Blackbelt Comes as Standard
Peter Vardy is delighted to be supporting the Scottish judoka Euan Burton.
Euan’s a world-class martial artist. Among his many achievements, he’s won bronze medals in the 2007 and 2010 World Judo Championships in the half-middleweight class.
With the London 2012 Olympic Games and other tournaments looming large, we’re hoping to see Euan achieve even greater things on the global stage.
This extract from his diary will give you an idea of his gruelling, globetrotting schedule:
31 Oct - 5 Nov. Netherlands: training
17 - 20 Nov. Netherlands: Grand Prix competition
22 Nov - 16 Dec. Japan: training
9 – 11 Dec. Tokyo: Grand Slam
Late Dec to mid-Jan. Japan: training
14 – 15 Jan. Kazakhstan: IJF Masters tournament (for the top 16 in the world)
The Tokyo Grand Slam is one of the toughest tournaments outside the World Championships. This is largely due to the number of Japanese and Asian fighters taking part. So, in anticipation, we’ll be crossing our fingers (not a recommended judo move, incidentally).

And don’t worry. We’ll make sure you don’t miss anything. We’ll be proudly keeping you up to date with our Facebook page.
