Peter Vardy Ltd Sleeps Under The Stars: Bethany Trust Charity Fundraiser Aims to Smash Record
Top executives and employees from one of Scotland’s largest car dealership, Peter Vardy Ltd, are tonight (Friday March 25th) swapping their beds for cardboard boxes as they take part in The Bethany Big Sleep Out. The 10th annual sponsored sleep out, in aid of homeless charities and taking place at the Edinburgh’s City Chambers, will see Peter Vardy Ltd represented by over 10 people from the company.
Amongst those sleeping under the stars are CEO Peter Vardy and people from across the business including staff from the dealerships, human resources, after sales, buying and marketing teams as they help to try and smash the £30,000 total raised last year.
This is the second year Peter Vardy Limited has actively supported the event by taking to the streets for a night. Driven by Chief Executive Peter Vardy, the company focuses heavily on customer and colleague engagement in its day to day business. From the outset the firm committed to giving away 10 per cent of its annual profits to worthwhile causes in the communities where it operates across Scotland, and also special projects abroad, through the Peter Vardy Foundation.
Peter Vardy, Chief Executive of Peter Vardy Ltd, said:
“We’ve all got our sleeping bags and thermals at the ready to raise as much money as we can for the Trust. Most of us here are doing this for the second time and so we know it’s going to be a challenging night. However, giving something back to the community and to those in need is something that’s very important to us as a company and if we can help raise money by sleeping rough for just one night then it’s the least we can do.”
The support for the Bethany Trust is part of Peter Vardy Ltd’s ongoing efforts to assist the charity following on from the support offered at Christmas when the company’s Rookie sales team worked with them to drive sales at their shops.
In addition to their work with the Trust, staff members at Peter Vardy head office in Glasgow and at the dealerships around the country have, in the last year, raised over £50,000 for causes such as Children in Need, Christmas gift drops for underprivileged families, Edinburgh’s Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Perth and Kinross Association of Voluntary Service (PKAVS).
