Peter Vardy Ltd sponsors Big Hearted Scotland
At Peter Vardy our values are very important to us. As part of giving back and supporting the local community, Peter Vardy Ltd were the proud sponsors of this year’s Big Hearted of Scotland awards.
The Big Hearted charity was set up in 1994 to raise vital funds for children & adults with a number of issues including epilepsy, special needs, cancer and disability. The Awards Night recognises people who have overcome barriers and inspired others in the face of adversity. This year’s event was held on Friday 10th September 2010 at the newly refurbished Grand Central Hotel in the heart of Glasgow’s City Centre, with Lorraine Kelly as the main host.
A Vauxhall Astra Active 1.4 was donated by Peter Vardy for their prize draw and the keys to the car were handed over on stage on the night of the event!
Peter Vardy Ltd sends top colleagues to the World Cup
Just like Spain we aim to be World Class and what better way to reward some of our World Class performing colleagues than a trip to South Africa to cheer on other world class teams at the World Cup 2010!
In June 2010, 18 of Peter Vardy Ltd colleagues packed their cases, jumped on a plane and jetted off to South Africa as part of a company wide incentive. Sales Advisors, Parts Advisors, Service Advisors and technicians were all whisked away as a reward for all the hard work and fantastic results they helped deliver.
The guys attended 3 football games and had some spare time to explore their surroundings in South Africa. On the final day they had a special visit to the Lion Park where the got the pictures taken with Lion Cubs! What an experience!

This exceptional result comes off the heels of last years placing of 54th in the same poll. With Peter Vardy now entrenched within the top 25, this is a strong signal of how satisfied the leadership and colleagues are within this young dynamic company.

Sunday closures – Peter Vardy promoting family time
Since we founded the business, we were determined to do things differently, and that included putting the wellbeing of our colleagues and their families above anything else. This is the reason we have taken the decision to close on Sundays.
Our chief executive Peter Vardy, says: "As a business, we have two key objectives: a commitment to delivering excellent customer service and a passion to ensure our people are looked after and fully motivated in their working environment.”
"To get the right balance between these aims I believe it is important that staff should have one day of the week which they can spend with their friends and families. I believe that Sunday closures will help us strike this balance."
Feedback from colleagues around a healthy work/life balance led us to trial Sunday closing at our Perth dealership and the results were overwhelmingly positive. We had a similarly positive response from the vast majority of our customers.
Sunday closing also ensures that everyone in our company gets a weekend day off each week with no work intrusions. We are also able to provide more effective Management cover to coach and support our colleagues across six days, rather than pro rata working over seven days which in turn enables us to deliver a better experience for you the customer.
