Peter Vardy Announces Acquisition of Vauxhall Dealerships
Peter Vardy Limited (PVL), one of Scotland’s leading car dealer group's has increased its company portfolio following the acquisition of two Vauxhall sites from the John Martin Group.
The Vardy and Martin families have known each other for many years, with both Sir Peter Vardy and John Martin’s years of experience in the motor trade spanning over decades. Following the death of John Martin Jnr in 2004, John Martin has consolidated his business for succession planning purposes. The excellent relationship between the two families has seen several negotiations take place including the sale of the group’s BMW and MINI dealerships in 2006. Peter Vardy’s acquisition of two successful Vauxhall sites brings the total number of Vauxhall dealers within PVL to five across Scotland. The two new additions are based in Aberdeen and Edinburgh, and are also home to the Chevrolet franchise.
Both well established, successful sites, the dealerships have been carefully selected to complement the existing portfolio, and take a further step towards meeting the PVL vision to create a world class company as measured by its colleagues, customers and communities that prides itself on wanting to be the best dealer group not the biggest.
Chief executive Peter Vardy recently voted 6th best leader in the UK at the Sunday Times awards, commented: “This is an incredibly exciting time for us. The new dealerships will begin trading under PVL as of July 1st.
PVL launched in 2006 and now has nine dealerships across Scotland including Edinburgh, Motherwell, Kirkcaldy and Aberdeen.
The Aberdeen Vauxhall dealership is situated on the Lang Stracht, the Edinburgh Vauxhall dealership at Seafield Road East. Both are well-known ‘motor mile’ stretches which enjoy excellent car retail footfall.
