Peter Vardy & Team Participate In 'Bethany's Big Sleepout' 2010
Help support our participation in 'Bethany's Big Sleepout' on Friday
26th March 2010, from 10pm - 7am at Edinburgh City Chambers.
At
Peter Vardy our dedication to giving back to the communities around us,
is not just something we ask of our team, we believe it starts at the
top. This Friday night our directors will be spending a night as many
less fortunate than ourselves do, sleeping rough in Edinburgh City
Centre.
Our Chief Executive, Peter Vardy says "It's all too easy
to say we care about the community and that we consider the situations
of others. 'The Big Sleepout' will give us just a taste of what others
go through day-in-day-out, and will hopefully inspire us to continue in
our efforts to raise funds to provide vital services for vulnerable
young people."
Homelessness is so widespread in Scotland that it
can effect whole communities and society at large. Nearly 57,000 people
declared themselves homeless in Scotland in 2007/2008. Fortunately we
are all in a position to help by contributing to a fantastic cause in
Bethany Christian Trust.
Bethany helps the homeless and the
vulnerable overcome problems that cause homelessness, and provide a
foundation to prevent this issue. When you donate funds to Bethany you
help people tackle and overcome these problems in order to live happier
and more settled lives.
This organised charity event sees
sponsored participants give up their beds for a night to sleep rough.
The goal is to raise as much money as possible for all the homeless and
vulnerable people throughout Scotland. In 2009 the sleepout raised a
fantastic £21,000, a total which we hope to smash this year!
