We recently announced we would be closing Sundays, little did we realise the overwhelmingly positive response we would receive.

I received your letter today informing MINI customers that you plan to close on Sundays, and seeking feedback. I think it’s a superb idea, and reflects excellently on the ethos of your company and the care and esteem you have for your employees. Folk still have Saturdays to go and choose the MINI of their dreams, so I don’t think it should adversely affect your turnover – at least, I hope not.

Thank you for your letter dated 8th January.
I must commend you on having the courage to close your business on a Sunday. I might be wrong but I think we have visited your showroom in Motherwell on a Sunday. I've been looking into buying a car as a leisure activity, however this is selfish as it does not take your staff into consideration. They are as entitled as anyone to a day of rest. I think the problem will be your competitors who will not have the same commitment or scruples as you and will therefore take advantage and fill the vacuum left. Hopefully more firms might join you and Sunday might once again be special and a day of rest.
We support your efforts and you have our wholehearted backing and continuing custom.

Dear Peter,
I fully support your proposal to close for business on Sundays. I feel too that it has become 'expected' that employees should have to work weekends in general, but Sundays in particular.
I purchased a new Vauxhall Antara from your Kirkcaldy branch in June 09 and received excellent service and support from the team there. I did not feel it necessary for them to be open on Sunday to help me then and do not now. I can arrange things like servicing for my car, looking at purchasing another vehicle, etc on any of the 6 days you are open for business, your opening hours suit my needs.

Just thought I would email to say I think it's a fantastic idea that you are giving your staff the opportunity to have Sunday free to spend with their families. Your opening hours through the week should give people more than enough time to choose a car.
